Commercial Cleaning FAQ — Paddington

Everything Paddington NSW 2021 businesses ask before they sign, collected from walkthroughs with boutique owners on Oxford Street, gallery directors around the terrace streets, practice managers off Glenmore Road and strata committees across the suburb. Grouped by theme so you can find your question quickly. If it is not here, call 1300 494 983 or use the contact page.

Pricing & Quotes

How much does commercial cleaning cost in Paddington?

Ongoing contracts run $30 to $45 per hour and one-off cleans $40 to $50 per hour across Paddington 2021. Where you land depends on frequency, floor area, wet areas and how much heritage surface care the building needs. Every client gets a fixed monthly price after a free walkthrough.

Do you charge for the walkthrough or the quote?

No. The site visit, the written scope and the quote are free, and the quote is itemised room by room so you can compare it honestly against any other bid rather than comparing two different jobs.

Is GST shown separately?

Yes. Every quote states the ex-GST figure and the GST-inclusive total side by side, so nothing changes at invoice time.

Why do Paddington quotes come in above a suburban office park?

Building type, not postcode. Terraces mean stairs instead of lifts, kerbside loading instead of a dock, small rooms that rule out large equipment, and original floors that need slower methods. The same square metreage takes more labour hours here.

Are travel or equipment fees added on top?

No. Travel, machinery and standard chemicals sit inside the hourly rate. The only extras are consumables you ask us to manage and project work you approve in writing beforehand.

Contracts & Terms

Do you use lock-in contracts?

No. Every agreement is month-to-month with 30 days written notice. We would rather keep the work by performing than by penalty clause, and a provider that needs a twelve-month lock-in is telling you something.

Can we change the scope once we have started?

Yes. Add a room, drop a visit, add a quarterly carpet extraction. The monthly figure is re-fixed in writing and applies from the next cycle, and there is no change fee.

What happens if a clean is missed or below standard?

Flag it and we re-clean the item free of charge, usually within 24 hours. Repeated issues trigger a supervisor site review, and the 30-day exit means you are never trapped with a provider who cannot fix it.

Can one agreement cover more than one site?

Yes. Operators with premises in Paddington and any of Woollahra, Moore Park, Rushcutters Bay, Elizabeth Bay, Potts Point or Kings Cross get a single agreement, one invoice and portfolio pricing rather than separately quoted contracts.

Staff, Safety & Insurance

Are your cleaners police-checked?

Every cleaner holds a current national police check before their first shift on any Paddington site. Childcare and education sites additionally require a NSW Working With Children Check, verified and copied to your office.

What insurance do you carry?

Pro Clean Corp carries $20 million public liability insurance, workers compensation and professional indemnity. Certificates of currency go to landlords, strata managers and building owners on request, which matters here because most premises are privately owned terraces.

Will we get the same cleaners each visit?

Yes. A consistent team of one to three cleaners is assigned to your site and inducted on your access, alarms and scope. Planned absences are notified in advance with a cleared replacement, not an unknown face on the night.

How do you handle keys and alarm codes?

Keys and fobs are logged under a signed register, alarm codes are stored encrypted and restricted to your assigned crew, and every entry and exit is recorded. Lost-key protocol includes same-day notification and locksmith cover.

What products do you use?

High-touch and clinical surfaces get TGA-registered hospital-grade disinfectants at labelled dwell times. General areas use commercial-grade low-odour products, with fragrance-free and low-tox options for childcare and sensitive sites. Heritage surfaces get pH-neutral chemistry, and safety data sheets stay on site.

Heritage Buildings & Local Conditions

Can you clean original Victorian floorboards safely?

Yes, and it is most of what we do here. Original boards get pH-neutral, low-moisture care. Strong alkaline products and saturating mops strip the finish and lift the seams, which is expensive to reverse and one of the most common ways a terrace tenancy gets damaged by a cleaner.

How do you handle brass, marble and pressed metal?

Brass and bronze get a non-abrasive polish on a set cycle. Marble and sandstone get stone-safe neutral chemistry, never an acidic bathroom cleaner. Pressed-metal ceilings are dry-dusted rather than wet-wiped, because moisture behind a panel causes rust that shows through the paint months later.

Where do your crews park on Oxford Street and Queen Street?

Mostly nowhere for long. Both strips are kerbside-load only with tight enforcement, so we schedule the run pre-trade from around 6am, unload once, and work the strip end to end rather than moving the vehicle between sites.

Does Paddington Markets affect service?

Only the timing. Saturday markets change foot traffic and street parking around the Oxford Street end, so weekend visits for nearby sites move to early morning or Sunday. Retailers who trade the market crowd often add a Sunday evening reset.

Can you work in a building with residents above?

Yes, and most of this area is exactly that. Low-noise vacuums, machine floor work confined to agreed hours, bins moved by hand rather than dragged, and every crew briefed on the quiet-hours conditions before their first shift.

Services & Scheduling

Which industries do you clean for in Paddington?

Boutique retail and galleries, cafes and restaurants, offices in converted terraces, medical and allied health suites, childcare services, fitness studios, strata common areas, and commercial end of lease work. Each has its own scope template and its own page on this site.

When do your crews work?

Outside trading hours, almost always. Pre-trade runs from 6am for retail and galleries, evenings from 6pm for offices and clinics, overnight for gyms and late-trading venues, and after service for hospitality. Weekend and public holiday work is available by arrangement.

How quickly can you start?

Most Paddington sites are live within a week of quote approval. Urgent starts, such as a contractor walking out or an inspection looming, can often be covered within 48 hours because the crew servicing this patch is already local.

Do you supply consumables?

If you want us to. Most clients have us manage bin liners, paper, soap and sanitiser at cost plus a small handling margin, which removes the mid-week run-outs that customers and staff notice immediately.

Do you do carpet cleaning and floor restoration?

Yes. Steam extraction for carpets, machine scrubbing and burnishing for hard floors, and strip-and-seal for vinyl and VCT. These are quoted per project and can be scheduled into a contract on a quarterly or half-yearly cycle.
